The game is the latest in a long line of controversial releases, with players complaining that it’s too easy to kill enemies. Ubisoft has responded by saying the “respawn rate” was not meant to be high, but rather make players feel more powerful.
Far Cry 6 players are unhappy with the high enemy respawn rate. The developers have released a patch that has reduced the number of enemies that appear in an area, but it will take some time for the changes to be fully implemented.
Far Cry 6 is officially available, and some gamers leading the resistance against Anton Castillo’s reign are finding it difficult to keep up due to abnormally high opponent respawn rates. The problem, which some blame on a glitch, first appeared soon after the game’s debut, preventing certain players from clearing bigger camps.
When players walk away from targets they’ve recently slain, Far Cry 6’s high opponent respawn rate seems to kick in. This isn’t a problem in tiny locations like checkpoints, but bigger camps in the game may have a lot of territory to traverse.
“If you walk more than 20-30 feet away from their corpses, Far Cry  essentially respawns opponents you’ve killed,” Reddit user PJ Heywood said. “Instantly. I continued to sprint from one side of the lighthouse complex to the other, eliminating the same enemy over and over again.”
The problem doesn’t seem to be restricted to open-world activities; it also appears to impact players who complete the game’s objectives.
“Caul Villareal was cleared very early in the game. It was staffed by maybe 8-10 evil people, who I quietly dispatched, and as I proceeded to explore the (sic!) information I was seeking, ten more bad guys appeared in the exact same locations as the ones I had just dispatched “koleke415, a Reddit user, said. “They had no idea I was there, and they hadn’t seen any of the corpses. However, several of them unexpectedly came within 10 feet of me.”
Multiple posts have discussed the enemy respawn rate in Far Cry 6, prompting Ubisoft forums member vahndaar to do some testing in the aim of determining how the system works.
According to their results, which have yet to be officially verified, enemy corpses despawn when the distance between them and the player reaches 100 meters and the player looks away. They further say that once the corpse has despawned, adversaries have no problem appearing directly in front of gamers.
According to a statement from Ubisoft, the company is aware of the problem, is researching it, and will offer an update as soon as possible.
We’ve been playing Far Cry 6 for the last week, but haven’t come across anything similar during our stay in Yara. We had no trouble clearing camps, and just a couple objective parts seemed like we had to kill more opponents than normal. Regardless, let’s hope a remedy isn’t too long in coming.
