The President of the United States, Donald Trump has made it his mission to crack down on fake news. It’s only natural that he would use this platform as a way to attack current and former members of his administration. On Wednesday, Joe Biden followed suit during an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper by taking shots at White House Chief Economic Advisor Gary Cohn for lying about tax reform plans under Trump saying “Gary was singing off key because that’s what happens when you don’t know anything about economics.”。

President Joe Biden spent around 10% of his address in New Jersey on Monday spinning a false narrative. This isn’t the first time Mr. Biden has told this story, but each time he does, the narrative appears to grow bigger. The tale, which revolves on his Amtrak journeys, isn’t necessarily of national significance, unless it serves as a window into his character or competency. His subsequent comments on more important topics have also raised doubts about his sincerity and sharpness.
Why was Vice President Joe Biden in New Jersey? NJ.com’s Jonathan Salant and Brent Johnson report:
While it was an official visit, Biden’s visit had political overtones because it occurred a week before New Jersey’s gubernatorial election between Phil Murphy, who is seeking re-election for the first time since Brendan Byrne in 1977, and Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli, who has closed to within single digits in recent polls.
In terms of Mr. Biden’s favorite whopper, both CNN and Fox have covered it extensively. In May, Fox’s Evie Fordham said:
Last week, President Biden shared a touching anecdote about an Amtrak conductor congratulating him on traveling more than 1.5 million miles, but the narrative’s elements don’t fit up. “One of the Capitol Hill publications calculated that I had traveled more than 7,000 round trips on Amtrak throughout my tenure when I became vice president. That, I believe, is an exaggeration. Those two conductors are who I’m going to depend on. . . “One of them was a man called Angelo Negri,” Biden stated at an Amtrak 50th anniversary ceremony on Friday. “In my fourth or fifth year as vice president, there was a story that said Biden flew 1,300,000 miles on Air Force One [Two].” I used to enjoy taking the train home—the Secret Service didn’t like it—but I did. My mother was ill, and as vice president, I tried to see her practically every weekend. When I arrived on the train, Angelo Negri approached me and said, “Joey, baby,” and touched my cheek like he often did. I was afraid he was going to be shot. I’m not joking. “He asked, ‘Joey, what’s the big deal?’ I answered, ‘No, no, he’s a buddy.’ Air Force Two has logged 1,300,000 miles. Do you have any idea how far you went on Amtrak? He gave me the figure and stated you went 1,500,000 miles on Amtrak.’ I answered, ‘No, Angie, I don’t know.’ In fact, I’m more likely to believe Angie’s word than the article’s.”
In June, CNN’s Daniel Dale observed:
President Joe Biden told a compelling tale on Tuesday that he has been repeating since at least his 2020 presidential campaign. Biden’s narrative demonstrates both his affinity for ordinary people and his passion for Amtrak, the train service he famously used to travel between Washington and his home state of Delaware for many years. He claims to have had an interaction with a specific Amtrak conductor when boarding a train as vice president, according to the account. The tale, however, could not possible be genuine… Before the earliest time they could potentially have had the imagined chat Biden keeps portraying, Negri had been deceased for more than a year—and had been retired for more than two decades.
Despite this, Mr. Biden continues to recount this unbelievable narrative, increasing the amount of railway miles he says Negri recorded to more than two million on Tuesday. “I thought the Secret Service was going to blow his head off,” he recalled of the moment Negri approached him. I vow to the Almighty. “This is a true tale.”
Is Mr. Biden certain that his claim about the conductor and the millions of kilometers is genuine, or does he recognize that it isn’t and that no one cares?
This newest version of his favorite story followed his uncertainty during a CNN town hall session on Thursday night. Along with tripping over domestic and international policy concerns, the President seems to have forgotten that he had selected a partisan reconciliation approach to get the majority of his program through without Republican support. Mr. Biden seemed to be making the argument against the path he’s adopting in his remarks to Anderson Cooper:
Look, it’s all about making a deal. It’s as if “compromise” has become a derogatory term. However, bipartisanship is required, and compromise must be conceivable. When I ran for president, I said that I was running for three reasons: one, to restore the nation’s spirit and decency; two, to strengthen the middle and working classes so that we can build from the center out; and three, to truly unify the country. “Well, that’s insane, you can’t do that,” everyone has said. We’re in big peril if we don’t finally unify this nation.

In the meanwhile, in Virginia,
Because of the Beltway swamp’s expansion, Virginia’s mostly government-dependent residents now vote for the left-leaning major-party candidate in statewide elections on a regular basis. However, Republican challenger Glenn Youngkin is making the governor contest competitive this year by portraying himself as a bulwark against the current Democratic Party’s rising radicalism. Emerson College reports today:
Republican Glenn Youngkin and Democrat Terry McAuliffe are deadlocked, 48 percent to 48 percent, in the latest Emerson College/Nexstar Media survey in the Virginia gubernatorial campaign.
The findings also imply that Mr. Youngkin’s emphasis on ensuring that parents have a role in their children’s education is resonating with Commonwealth voters. Emerson claims that:
When asked which problem is the most important in Virginia, respondents were divided between education (21%), employment (15%), Covid-19 (14%), and taxes (14%). (10 percent ). Other topics were gun control (6%), immigration (6%), and the environment (6%). (6 percent ). Eleven percent of voters stated something different.
